If you aren’t sure what a dynamic resonance suppressor is, imagine an intelligent “DeEsser” that can find “ringing” frequencies and selectively remove them… but only when they become too loud.
This saves us from having to notch out annoying and harsh frequencies that are often heard in drum cymbals, distorted guitars, and vocals.
